Pet Identification

Identification tags-

A current contact phone number is necessary to be on your pet tag. For security reasons you may not want to have your full address or other information on the tag. If you are traveling you can write another number on some tape and put on the back of the tag. A rabies tag can often be traced  but it can take a lot of phone calls to do it depending on where your pet is lost and how much effort the people finding it will go to. You also can write a phone number in indelible ink or engrave it on the back of most rabies tags!

Tags can be ordered for very little (I got one that was engraved and mailed for under $4.00) and are priceless when needed. My own dogs are microchipped and have current information on tags on their collars but collars can be lost or taken off; microchips are permanent and can be legal proof if needed to retrieve your pet.
